In the US: Tomorrow When the War Began

Just a quick little FYI post...

The Tomorrow Series by John Marsden are my favourite book series of all time. Enough said. The series start with 'Tomorrow When the War Began', written in 1993. And, as many of you know, the movie came out in Australia in 2011 (both in cinemas, and the dvd release).

It had limited theatrical release in the UK (not sure what other countries?).

AND FINALLY it is available in the US with both a US dvd release and through Netflix. You can rent or buy from amazon.

Guys, I LOVED the movie (me, chatting it up afterwards). I know I am completely biased because I already loved the characters and the story so much that just the trailer nearly moved me to tears (haha). If you've read the books, I really think you'd love the movie. It was very nostalgia-inducing for me. Just generally awesome, and delightfully Australian.

I am getting in the mood for a re-watch just thinking about it now...

Are you a fan?
Planning to watch it?
If you do watch it, I would LOVE to know what you think of it :)

Here's the trailer, just in case :)

If you haven't read the books, any time is a good time ;)

  1. I love love love those books, and I've been waiting for the movie to reach our shores! Netflix let me put it in my queue, but the release date shows "unknown", arrgh. But I do see it to rent on Amazon (too bad it's not a free Prime video, since we have a Prime membership). Thanks so much for the heads up!

My only complaint with these books is that I wish I could recommend them to more people--but a lot of people are put off by the description alone. But they're missing out on some brilliant writing!

  15. I have been wanting to read those books for ages! I think I'll just have to order the first and ignore my TBR pile ...

It's great that you love the book and the movie, btw. That rarely happens to me, I usually tend to complain about lots of things they didn't get right in the film - and annoy whoever is watching it with me ;).

  23. Sounds good. I'll try to read the series first, as I usually enjoy better the book than the movie.
